Welcome to my blog!

23 weeks

How far along: 23 weeks

How much weight gain/loss: 7 lbs! I feel every ounce of it. LOL!

Maternity clothes: Of course

Sleep: Amazing! Husband's work schedule is crazy and he often leaves the house before 5am so we've all been going to bed around 8:30pm. Babes and I wake up around 7:30 every morning. I am thrilled with our new "early to bed" routine.

Best moments of the week: Family reading before bedtime. We've been reading "The Little House in the Big Woods" every night and both Macs AND Husband sit around and listen intently. (Don't tell C I told you... He'll never admit that he listens as closely as Macs. Haha!)

Miss anything: A pain-free back LOL

Movement: Still soft and infrequent.

Food cravings: Korean beef that I made for dinner the other night. I could eat it for every meal. Also, Godiva chocolate truffles.

Anything make you queasy or sick: Drinking water on an empty stomach and SMELLS.

Have you started to show yet: Ooohh yes.

Gender: GIRL! Yay yay yayyyy

Labor signs: Nothing major

Belly button in or out: In

Wedding rings on or off: On!

Happy or Moody: Happy

Most looking forward to: CHRISTMAS in the mountains with my family! Also, around 7pm every night when Husband comes home from work. I miss him when I only get to see him for an hour and a half every day. So excited that today is Friday and we'll have him home for two whole days!

This morning I woke up to the tragic news of a young pastor's wife whose son (and third child) was stillborn on Monday morning at 34 weeks after a completely normal and uncomplicated pregnancy. There were no warning signs, the doctors simply couldn't find his heartbeat one day.

The news made me even more DETERMINED to marvel at this miracle happening in my body. I often take my ability to carry my children safely inside my body for granted. I just assume after two normal pregnancies and deliveries that after the first 12 weeks, everything will be fine. Today reminded me that sometimes terrible things happen when you least expect it. :(

Avery Jane, in Jesus' name, may you be born ALIVE, SAFELY, IN PERFECT HEALTH, NATURALLY, AFTER 38 weeks!

^^ The same blessing goes for all of my fellow belly buddies and their babies! ^^ Divine health and protection! ^^

Lord, THANK YOU for this little gift kicking around in my stomach. Nausea, migraines and back pain are a SMALL price to pay for the incredible experience of carrying life and giving birth. Being a mama is the greatest calling you could have blessed me with!
