You've probably heard the term "mom uniform" before. If you're unfamiliar with it, you won't be by the end of this post.
A mom uniform is that "go-to" outfit that a female who stays at home with her young offspring reaches for when in a rush.
For instance: it's 7am and your 6 month old who has been up for several hours decides that she will definitely NOT be going back to sleep despite your best efforts to direct her otherwise and your 5 year old proclaims "I'm hungry" with such fervor that any stranger who might overhear would be convinced that you've been starving him for the last 2 years. Somehow the thought of wearing pajamas all day just makes you feel like a bum, so you throw on a few articles of clothing that you suspect your husband might come home to find you in later. You only have 30 seconds to make your selection. Cue mom uniform!
For me this entails a pair of cut-offs. Duh, especially since it feels as though you're bathing in lava as soon as you walk out the front door these days. Holy hotness! I can't be bothered with pants in this heat.
A pair of cut-offs is ideally paired with a stretchy shirt because Lord knows your sweet baby will be using your body as a kind of jungle gym throughout the day and you need an article of clothing that can withstand that kind of activity. Also, this shirt needs to be one to which you aren't especially attached since it will be ruined by the time your baby turns 1.
Keep in mind that you may be asked to participate in several dance parties throughout the day. Plan your clothing selection accordingly. ^^
Finally, wear some comfy shoes. You might suffer from weak ankles and wearing heels during all your required activities could be disastrous. You wouldn't want to add some kind of brace or cast to your mom uniform.
Allow your clothing choices to evolve with the seasons. Obviously I don't wear cut offs to the store in winter. That would be stupid.
All joking aside... What do you keep in mind while making your clothing selections every day??Comment below!
