A couple of weeks ago, we introduced Lolly to solid food: mashed bananas. I'm not planning to regularly supplement yet since frequently introducing solids is the "beginning of the end" for any nursing relationship and I hope to breastfeed her for at least a year, probably closer to two years. (Some of you may feel as though this decision makes me a hippy freak, but you might want to do a little research before you make up your mind that I'm crazy. Just sayin'. LOL) We were just having fun.
At first she wasn't so sure about actually ingesting the bananas and far more interested in mashing it between her fingers.
After a few minutes, however, she was hooked and grabbing at my hand to guide the spoon into her mouth. LOL.
After I'd finished feeding her the banana, I did the unfathomable (for a control/clean freak) and let her play with the leftovers, smearing the food on her tray with her fat little hands. She loved it, but the clean up was so extensive that I shan't be doing that again. I'm back to my OCD ways now. LOL.
Take a look at this smile though... I'd say she enjoyed herself.
