To be honest, I haven't been loving the morning times at my house as of late. Laura spends much of the night awake/screaming and at 6:30 AM I'm feeling less than grateful to be alive, let alone awake. As a newborn, she was a great sleeper and I'm not sure if it's teething or because she's just so dang hearty but girl could probably scream, unphased, for hours. Sometimes she wants to eat, but mostly she just wants to be held. By me. All night.
A few days ago, she had been up during the night as usual and woke up at 6:30 as usual but unexpectedly she fell asleep around 8:30 and I had 20 minutes of quiet before Macson woke up. (Macson is and always has been the BEST SLEEPER EVER. I was totally spoiled with him.)
I took the time to make some coffee and read my Bible. Feeling refreshed (Jesus and coffee are a dynamite combo for brightening gloomy mornings), I decided to look around the house and really savor the beautiful stillness of the objects that make up my home.
Laura's toy that she tossed on the ground during our early morning playtime. ^^
Macson has a great love for books. Whenever he has a few dollars to spend, we at Barnes & Noble purchasing a new book about sharks or planes or dinosaurs. He loves to read and be read to and I consider it an investment in his soul- I read to him as much as possible. ^^
He cracks me up when he first wakes up. Those slippers though... ^^ LOL
We even managed to squeeze in a little breakfast together before baby sister let us know she was ready to play again. ^^
I fully expect to continue loathing all these early mornings but that morning was such a sweet gift.
