Monday blues don't stand a chance when it comes to this face (and that hat!). It's almost technically fall, so I decided to accessorize her for about .2 seconds after which she immediately snatched that adorable little hat right off her copper head. LOL.
Little lady has been making my life SO EASY right now. She sleeps 12+ hours total every night, waking up after 10 hrs to nurse and then going back into her bed until mid-morning. Praise. The. Lord.
Plus, she's a total mamma's girl which I had not expected at all. Of course she loves her daddy too, but I am her preferred everything... Diaper changer, feeder, cuddler, bather, play-mate. Also, she only listens to me when I talk to her. I call her name or say "No! No!" and she instantly turns and stops her activity, whereas she acts as though she doesn't hear Cody at all. Selective hearing starts young now, eh? LOL.
This stage with Laura has been so special for me. I'm learning to accept her fierce independence as a gift. She's large, in charge and thinks she's totally grown. Sound like anyone else you know?
Yeah, didn't think so. ;)
Totally unrelated to baby Laura, I am having a major goat cheese moment. Particularly goat cheese with honey. The sour and sweet contrast is just heaven and goes amazingly with everything.
This was breakfast for me today. ^^ Toast, goat cheese, tomatoes, basil and a touch of balsamic.
And yes, I did have a little issue with the toaster this morning, if you must know. My bread was turned a delightful shade of CARBON. ;) Only the top was burned though, and I was not about to waste some food so yeah... Still awesome.
Here's a sneak peek of dinner. ^^ I've been thinking about risotto for a while now and finally decided to take the TIME (because risotto takes a good deal of time) to make it. I haven't completely decided on the protein component, but I'm thinking steak for Cody and shrimp for Macson and me. Cody is deathly allergic to shrimp, though he has assured me that I can still prepare shrimp in his presence... He just can't consume it. Whatever. I have two EpiPens on standby. ;)
Creamy mushroom and asparagus risotto topped with spicy, sautéed shrimp... Sounds so good, right?!
I'll leave you with these. ^^ Macson is the best.
May this week be productive, peaceful and smooth for you. May your relationships succeed and may you be overflowing with joy even in the midst of uncertain circumstances.
