Hi.

Welcome to my blog!

Snapshots (many unedited, sorry!) of our family holiday:

Despite a whole lotta flu germs running amuk, we had a fabulous Christmas in Tennessee!

The ranch was beautiful and easily a favorite vacation spot for the entire family. Each bedroom, kitchen and living area had a fireplace (can you say "cozy"?!) and acres and acres of land to explore.

 Rock candy!

Rock candy!

The nearby town was delightfully quaint and full of historic sites. We spent an afternoon exploring its shops (specifically the candy shop)... and a zoo.

The obvious highlight for me was all the precious family time (duh) but a close second was THE FOOD. Holy goodness! We prepared the Christmas Day meal as a group, but subsequent dinners were prepared by each couple. I wish I had taken a picture of every meal because they were INCREDIBLE.

Split pea soup (with fresh whole wheat bread), Brunswick stew (with made-from-scratch cornbread), Turkey sloppy joe sandwiches, turkey chili, and Zuppa Toscana (with garlic bread)..... You get the idea. I'm so thankful to be related to a bunch of kick-butt cooks.

Family is everything. I genuinely enjoy each of my siblings and their chosen spouses. Having a close-knit family is one of my greatest joys in life. Β

I hope you all had a very merry and healthy Christmas and happy New Year!
